JP Morgan Asset Management (JPMAM) and i Live have joined forces to purchase a site in Berlin as part of plans to develop a state-of-the-art student residence with approximately 350 rooms. The plot at Lützowstrasse 74, located in the west of the German capital, was acquired via the firms’ joint venture. The aim is to complete construction in 2029, JPMAM confirmed in a statement BME Group was the seller of the property. The new development forms part of JPMAM’s European Managed Living Platform, an initiative that aims to address the persistent shortage of high-quality, modern student accommodation across Europe’s growing cities, the firm said. The i Live Group, in which ZECH Real Estate holds a stake as a co-shareholder, is one of the leading providers of lifestyle and micro-apartments in Germany. JP Morgan Asset Management was advised by Hogan Lovells, while BME Group was represented by K&L Gates. Cushman & Wakefield acted as transaction adviser.
