José Viqueira García
INREV Guidelines Project Manager
José Viqueira García joined the Association straight from the crisis. Before he started at INREV earlier this year in the role of Guidelines Project Manager, José worked in the team that marketed residential repossessions for Bank Santander in Spain. “It was a great job and I learnt a lot but it was also difficult knowing where the properties came from,” he said.
He’s now supporting Lonneke Löwik Director of Professional Standards, with the review of the INREV Guidelines. He is particularly focused on overseeing updates from the Guidelines on valuation, sustainability and overall coordination. The role includes project managing the process as well as liaising with committees and external companies working on the separate projects that make up the review.
José is a Spanish citizen and has a business degree and a Masters in Real Estate Management in Spain. He also gained further working experience through internships in New York and the UK in property management and real estate agency.
In his INREV role, he is enjoying the change of focus and the international nature of the role. “It is a real change from Spanish residential and development. The world of institutional investors and funds means it is quite a few new terms and concepts. The Spanish market is also less mature in terms of the types of standards that INREV is setting, so it is good to get an understanding of this from an international perspective,” he said.
